After receiving
a BFA in Sculpture and Functional Art from the
University of Minnesota - Twin Cities and an Associates
degree in Graphic design, Teri Harriet's twelve
year career path lead her from graphic design,
creative consulting, business development, sales
and marketing and back to the fine arts.
Her most recent work has been called "Twisted
but innocent", "Dark yet funny",
"Silliness with a sharp edge" and "Cracked!".
Her process? Teri digs into her life's oddities,
the things that have always seemed "normal"
and presents them through an outsider's point
of view with the desire for a happily never after.
Through this process she finds that her work,
as in life, can be seen as "unique"
or odd, good or bad, and/or opportunity or catastrophe...
depending on your perspective. Whatever angle
you choose to see, Teri says, "If my twist
on life's normal oddities makes someone smile,
then that's success." But she adds, "A
frown, scratch on the head and a few curse words
are ok too."
